My Values and Philosophy

I am a weight inclusive practitioner and work from a Health at Every Size®-informed lens.

I am an identity-affirming provider and welcome clients of all races, ethnicities, gender identities and expressions, sexual orientations, abilities, body sizes, and lived experiences.

I am neurodiversity-affirming and recognize that traditional "treatment" often fails to support the sensory, cognitive, and processing needs of all humans. I strive to understand what truly works for you, honoring your self-knowledge rather than overriding it.

I trust you and your body. My approach prioritizes informed consent, client agency, and shared decision-making. I also recognize that harm reduction is an essential part of care and relational healing.

I aim to be a collaborative member of your support team—one who values your lived experience and inner knowing. I believe healing happens through connection, compassion, and trust.

Denise Marmillion (she/her) is a registered dietitian, supervisor, and yoga practitioner who supports individuals navigating eating disorders, disordered eating, and complex relationships with food and body.

While her clinical background is rooted in eating disorder care, Denise has found that an embodied framework paired with thoughtful nutrition guidance resonates with clients across a wide range of backgrounds, identities, and needs.

Clients often describe her counseling style as patient, non-judgmental, warm, and refreshingly frank. Outside of sessions, catch Denise cheering on the Celtics basketball team or researching her next travel adventure.

TESTIMONIALS

“Denise has improved my life in so many ways in the past year I have been working with her. When we met, I knew I had an unhealthy relationship with food, but I didn’t realize the extent to which that relationship was affecting my everyday life. Denise has not only helped me recognize and challenge my restrictive thought patterns, but her counseling has transformed my entire life. From giving me easy recipes and creating meal plans together, to stopping calorie-counting and changing my outlook on exercise, her support has given me self-confidence and has made my recovery journey so much more enjoyable than I would have thought possible. Her upbeat nature and positive attitude bring so much light to my life. I cannot put into words how grateful I am for you – thank you, Denise!!”
